Zusammenfassung

Die Positronenemissionstomographie (PET) stellt ein neues nuklearmedizinisches Verfahren dar, das In-vivo-Messungen von Tumorstoffwechsel und -perfusion erlaubt. Absolutmessungen und Standardisierung der PET-Daten bilden die Grundlage für vergleichende Untersuchungen vor, während und nach Therapie. Damit sind frühzeitige Aussagen über die Effektivität einer Therapie und auch entsprechende Änderungen der Therapie möglich. Weiterhin kann mit der PET anhand von Mehrparametermessungen das biologische Verhalten des Tumors in vivo beschrieben und daraus prognostisch relevante Aussagen abgeleitet werden.

Summary

PET, a new method in nuclear medicine, allows the in vivo measurement of tumor metabolism and tumor perfusion. Absolute and standardized PET data can be used for comparative examinations before, during and after therapy. It thereby is possible to assess very early the efficacy of a therapy and also to change the therapeutic scheme. Furthermore PET studies with multiple parameters allow the evaluation of the biological behaviour of the tumor and yield information that is relevant for prognosis.
