Abstract

A new instrument for percutaneous muscle biopsies is presented. It was tested in biopsies of the vastus lateralis, gastrocnemius, and brachioradialis muscles. With this instrument, percutaneous muscle biopsies were performed noninvasively and simply with procurement of sufficient material (30-40 mg) for satisfactory histological examination
