Abstract
A 12 1/2 months old girl with stage IV-neuroblastoma presented with a retroperitoneal primary and tumor infiltrations of the urinary bladder. She had multiple osseous metastases, unilateral orbital infiltrations and medullary tumor cell seeds. Treatment was exclusively chemotherapeutic. The primary tumour and the metastases regressed completely. Extensive calcifications resulted, and they slowly disappeared over a period of three years.
The girl remains free of tumour 6 1/2 years after diagnosis and initiation of therapy and 4 1/2 years after its completion.
Zusammenfassung
Es wird über den Krankheitsverlauf eines bei Diagnosestellung 12 1/2 Monate alten Mädchens mit Neuroblastom im Stadium IV (retroperitonealer Primärtumor, Infiltration der Harnblasenwand, multiple ossäre, medulläre und einseitige orbitale Metastasen) berichtet. Die Behandlung erfolgte ausschließlich durch Chemotherapie. Der Primärtumor und die Metastasen gingen vollständig zurück. Es traten ausgeprägte Verkalkungen auf, die sich innerhalb von 3 Jahren weitgehend zurückbildeten.
Die Patientin ist 6 1/2 Jahre nach Diagnosestellung, 4 1/2 Jahre nach Beendigung der Therapie tumorfrei.
