Patientenschulung bei Fibromyalgie

Abstract

Current experiences have shown that in fibromyalgia successes in therapy and rehabilitation are strongly bound to the patients' personal competence and responsibility in relation to their illness. The lack of information is great. Hence, the basis of any treatment of fibromyalgia is an interactive transfer of knowledge of the disease, the possibilities of treatment, the valency of motion, the relief of pain and the controlling of daily stress and disease activity. An interdisciplinary attempt to promote patient education, as it has proved its worth in rheumatoid arthritis patients, is an excellent approach to the problem. Patient education in fibromyalgia was promoted on an interdisciplinary and supra-regional basis during the last two years and is being tested since Oct. 1996. We intend to publish the patient education manual with trainer information reflecting didactic and methodical aspects, working instructions and patient handouts, by the end of 1997.

Zusammenfassung

Bisherige Erfahrungen haben gezeigt, daß beim Fibromyalgie-Syndrom Therapieerfolge sehr stark an Kompetenz und Selbstverantwortlichkeit der Patienten im Umgang mit ihrer Erkrankung gekoppelt sind. Bei nachgewiesenem Informationsbedürfnis bietet sich somit als Grundlage für jegliche Behandlung eines Fibromyalgie-Patienten eine interaktive Wissensvermittlung über Krankheitsbild, Therapiemöglichkeiten, Bedeutung von Bewegung, psychologische Schmerzbewältigung und Bewältigung von Alltagsstreß und Krankheit an. Hierzu eignet sich hervorragend der interdisziplinäre Ansatz einer Patientenschulung, wie sie sich bereits bei der chronischen Polyarthritis sehr bewährt hat. Das Patienten-Schulungsprogramm Fibromyalgie wurde in den letzten 2 œ Jahren von Ärzten, Psychologen und Bewegungstherapeuten interdisziplinär und überregional erarbeitet und ist im Herbst 1996 in eine Testphase gegangen. Für Ende 1997 ist die Veröffentlichung des Patienten- Schulungsprogrammes mit Trainerhinweisen, Arbeitsmaterialien und Informationen für den Patienten geplant.
