Abstract

We report on a 21 month old boy with congenital anomalies and a trisomy of the short arm of chromosome 4 as result of a maternal translocation 4/8 with meiotic 3:1 segregation. Karyotype/phenotype correlation is compared with other reported cases and discussed in a context of nearly pure trisomy 4p.

Zusammenfassung

Wir berichten über einen 21 Monate alten Knaben mit kongenitalen Fehlbildungen und Trisomie des kurzen Arms des Chromosoms 4 als Folge einer meiotischen 3:1-Segregation einer maternalen balancierten Translokation zwischen einem Chromosom 4 und einem Chromosom 8. Die Karyotyp/Phänotyp-Korrelation dieser fast reinen Trisomie 4p wird diskutiert und mit beschriebenen Fällen verglichen.
