Der Stellenwert arthroskopischer Operationen

Zusammenfassung

An der Orthopädischen Abteilung der Landeskrankenanstalten in Salzburg wurden vom April 1976 bis Juli 1983 831 Arthroskopien durchgeführt und von 1979 bis 1983 186 Patienten arthroskopisch operiert. 32 arthroskopisch durchgeführte Meniskektomien wurden bezüglich postoperativem Krankenhausaufenthaltes und postoperativem Krankenstand ausgewertet.

Als Nachteil, vor allem in der Anfangsphase des arthroskopischen Operierens, wird die längere Operationsdauer erwähnt, welche sich jedoch mit zunehmender Übung und Erfahrung des Operateurs deutlich reduzieren läßt.

Als Vorteile der arthroskopisch durchgeführten Operation werden für den Patienten folgende Punkte angeführt:

1. präziseres chirurgisches Vorgehen,

2. Reduzierung des operativen Traumas,

3. schnellere postoperative Rehabilitation.

Abstract

Between April 1976 and July 1983, 831 arthroscopies were performed in the orthopedic department of the Salzburg State Clinic, and 186 patients underwent arthroscopic surgery between 1979 and 1983. Thirtytwo meniscectomies performed with arthroscopy were assessed with regard to postoperative duration of hospitalization and postoperative condition. One of the disadvantages of arthroscopic surgery is that the procedure is rather protracted, especially when the surgeon is unaccustomed to it; however, the duration can be considerably shortened as the surgeon gains practice and experience.

The following advantages of arthroscopic surgery for the patient are mentioned:

1. it is a more accurate surgical procedure;

2. surgical trauma is reduced;

3. rehabilitation is achieved more rapidly.
