Periphere Netzhautstreifen - Lineare Depigmentierung des peripheren retinalen Pigmentepithels

Zusammenfassung

Wir beobachteten bei 3 Patienten eine Anomalie der Netzhautperipherie, die sich ophthalmoskopisch in Form einer oraparallelen, streifigen depigmentierten Zone darstellt und als verminderte oder fehlende Pigmentierung des retinalen Pigmentepithels gedeutet werden muß. Bandartige Depigmentierungszonen in der äquatorialen Netzhaut wurden bisher beim Histoplasmosesyndrom beobachtet und mit linear streaks of the equator bezeichnet. Wir fanden jedoch bei unseren Patienten keinen Hinweis für diese Erkrankung, so dass die ätiologische Zuordnung dieses Symptoms derzeit noch unklar bleibt.

Summary

An unusual peripheral depigmented streak lesion of the retina is described in three patients. This depigmented line is located in the equatorial region running parallel to the ora serrata and seems to result from a focal reduction or loss of pigmentation in the retinal pigment epithelium. Similar lesions have been reported as a symptom of the presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome (POHS) called linear streaks of the equator. As we did not find any additional symptoms of POHS in our patients, the aetiology of this peripheral depigmented streaks remains unclear.
