Abstract

Based on a personal experience with over 200 arthroplasties of the shoulder and reviewing the world literatur on this behalf from 1986 - 92, a comparative study of the most relevant complications in presented. The causes, consequences and possibilities of treatment are discussed. According to their frequency the following complications are at the fore: Loosening of the glenoid component, rotator cuff ruptures, instabilities followed by the rather infrequent infections, nerve lesions and loosening of the cemented humeral component

Zusammenfassung

Die persönlichen Erfahrungen bei über 200 Schulterarthroplastiken, überwiegend bei cP-Schultern, werden hinsichtlich der Art und Häufigkeit von Komplikationen denjenigen der jüngeren Weltliteratur (1986 - 92) gegenübergestellt. Auf die Auswirkungen dieser Komplikationen und deren Behandlungsmöglichkeiten wird näher eingegangen. Nach ihrer Häufigkeit stehen folgende Komplikationen im Vordergrund:

Pfannenlockerungen, Rotatorenmanschettenrupturen und Instabilitäten, gefolgt von Infektionen, Nervenverletzungen und Lockerung der zementierten humeralen Komponente.
