Summary

The frequency and variety of ophthalmological problems in a large chemicals manufacturing plant are illustrated on the basis of the consultation statistics of the plant medical service. The importance of measures to prevent injury and their systematic application thus becomes clear. The results and the conclusions to be drawn from them are discussed.
