Ungewöhnliche Befunde bei Tränenwegsoperationen. Intermediärzellige Transitionalzellpapillome und Onkozytom

Zusammenfassung

Tränenwegstumoren, an und für sich selten, sind nicht leicht zu diagnostizieren, weil sie keine einheitliche Symptomatik aufweisen. Sie sollten aber während des operativen Procedere als solche erkannt werden. Drei Fälle wurden letzthin in Basel operiert, wobei es sich um zwei Transitionalzellpapillome und um ein Onkozytom handelte. Erst der Operationssitus offenbarte das Ausmaß dieser Tumoren. Eine solche Situation zwingt den Operateur unter Umständen, den ursprünglichen OP-Plan abzuändern. Eine histologische Diagnose ist deshalb unerläßlich.

Summary

Tumors of the lacrimal sac are uncommon and are not easily diagnosed preoperatively. The difficulty is the lack of a uniform pattern of symptoms for the physician, despite the fact that these tumors are well documented histologically. Three cases are presented in which the tumors were suspected when the lacrimal sac was opened during surgery. In two cases a transitional cell papilloma of the sac was found, in the third an oncocytoma. Such a situation may force the surgeon to change his surgical plan. Histologic diagnosis is therefore essential in order to determine the further procedure.
