Zusammenfassung:
Bei einem 74jährigen Mann mit fortgeschrittenem Prostatakarzinom traten nach über 2jähriger Behandlung mit Fosfestrol schwere Blutungskomplikationen auf. Als Blutungsursache wurde eine Thrombozytopenie festgestellt und ein kausaler Zusammenhang zur Fosfestrol-Behandlung durch Therapieauslaß und Reexposition belegt. In der Literatur werden einzelne weitere thrombozytopenische Blutungskomplikationen der Östrogen-Behandlung des Prostatakarzinoms berichtet und Vorstellungen zur Pathogenese erörtert.
Abstract
A 74-year-old man developed severe bleeding complications after exstirpation of a prostatic cancer and a 2-year therapy with Fosfestrol. Bleeding was caused by thrombocytopenia resulting from Fosfestrol as confirmed by cessation and reexposition of the estrogen therapy. Several cases of thrombocytopenia as a complication of estrogen therapy for prostatic cancer have been reported in the literature and these as well as pathogenetic concepts are discussed.
