Summary:
The purpose of this investigation was to assess whether estimation of urinary excretion of guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) was able to predict the early renal dysfunction in patients with lower urinary tract obstruction. Evidence was presented to show the decrease of GAA excretion before deterioration of Ccr. Based on this fact it was assumed that GAA would be a useful indicator for the detection of renal dysfunction in these patients.
