Zusammenfassung

Eine Modifikation der Gianturco-Spiraltechnik zur therapeutischen Gefäßembolisation wurde im Phantomversuch und bei 36 klinischen Anwendungen erprobt. Die Applikation der „Mini”-Spirale erfolgt direkt über einen geeigneten Angiographiekatheter ohne Führungsmandrin und Katheterwechsel.

Summary

A modification of the Gianturco spiral technique for therapeutic vascular embolisation was tested first on phantoms and then in 36 patients. The introduction of a minispiral was achieved by the use of an angiographic catheter, making it unnecessary to change catheters („flushing technique”).
