Computertomographische und szintigraphische Diagnostik der bakteriellen Spondylitis

Zusammenfassung

36 Patienten mit bakterieller Spondylitis und 8 Patienten mit Spondylosclerosis hemispherica (Dihlmann 1981) wurden mit konventioneller Röntgentechnik, Computertomographie sowie ^99mTc-MDP-Szintigraphie und ⁶⁷Galliumszintigraphie untersucht. Zur Diagnosestellung kann die konventionelle Röntgenuntersuchung ausreichen. In zweifelhaften Fällen sollten für die Diagnose und für die Verlaufsbeobachtung auch die Computertomographie und die Szintigraphie herangezogen werden. Die Spondylosclerosis hemispherica läßt sich mittels der Zusatzmethoden eindeutig abgrenzen.

Summary

Thirty-six patients with bacterial spondylitis and eight patients with hemispherical spondylosclerosis (Dihlmann 1981) were examined by conventional x-ray techniques, computed tomography, ^99mTc-MDP scintigraphy and ⁶⁷Gallium scintigraphy. Conventional radiology is adequate for making the diagnosis. Where there is doubt, however, and for observing the progress of the disease, CT and scintigraphy may be used. Hemispherical spondylosclerosis can be identified by means of these additional methods.
