Zusammenfassung
Bei CT-Kontrolluntersuchungen von 8 Patienten nach palliativer Embolisation eines malignen Nierentumors wurde eine deutliche Größenreduktion beobachtet, beginnend in der folgenden Woche und bis zu 2-3 Monaten andauernd. Die diesen Beobachtungszeitraum überlebenden Patienten wiesen nach 6-12 Monaten eine abermalige Tumorprogredienz auf, die neben der tumorösen Volumenzunahme auch an der computertomographisch quantifizierbaren Revaskularisation diagnostizierbar war. Intratumorale Gasansammlungen nach Embolisation wurden bei 4 von 6 Fällen bereits in der ersten Woche und lediglich bei einem Fall bis zu 5 Monaten beobachtet, ohne daß klinische Hinweise auf das Vorliegen eines floriden Nierenabszesses bzw. einer Urosepsis bestanden.
Summary
CT examination of eight patients after palliative embolisation of a malignant renal tumour showed a distinct reduction in renal size, beginning after a week and lasting for two or three months. In the patients who survived for more than six to twelve months, the tumour increased in size, as was shown by an increase of tumour volume and tumour revascularisation which could also be demonstrated by computer tomography. Gas in the tumour after embolisation was seen in four out of six cases within the first week and in another case it persisted for five months, without evidence of the presence of a renal abscess or urinary sepsis.
