Abstract
Usefulness of real-time CT fluoroscopy (CTF) as a tool for guiding intracranial interventions was evaluated based on our clinical experience. Twenty-six interventional procedures were undertaken in 16 patients under CTF guidence, which included puncture of intracranial hematoma, hematoma drainage, cerebrospinal fluid drainage and tumor biopsy. Real-time monitoring with CTF successfully demonstrated the process of intracranial interventions in all cases. The advantages of CT fluoroscopy were improved accuracy of puncture by monitoring the position and direction of the needle, and improved safety by avoiding critical punctures.
