Abstract

The indications for, rationale behind, and appropriate timing of intraperitoneal chemotherapy are outlined. Surgical and percutaneous catheter placement are then reviewed with emphasis on efficacy, safety, and the advantages/disadvantages of each approach. Finally, the authors' preferred technique for fluoroscopically guided percutaneous catheter insertion is presented in detail.
