Zusammenfassung
Es wurden 129 Patienten mit Tumoren im Iridoziliargebiet operiert. Die Resultate bei organerhaltenden Operationen werden ausgewertet. Sorgfältige Auswahl des Operationsverfahrens und strenge Indikation hatten zur Folge, dass bei 118 Patienten ein sehfähiges Auge erhalten blieb oder zumindest ein kosmetisch gutes Resultat erzielt wurde. Bei 76% der Fälle blieb eine hohe Sehschärfe erhalten. Die Indikation für eine das Auge erhaltende Operation besteht nur, wenn der Tumor nicht mehr als ein Viertel des Ziliarkörperumfanges ausmacht. Derartige Operationen sollten nur in Spezialkliniken durchgeführt werden, die auch die nachsorgende Überwachung der Tumorpatienten durchführen können.
Summary
An analysis is presented of eye-preserving operations in 129 patients with iridociliary tumors. Careful selection of the surgical procedure and exact determination of indications enabled the authors to preserve the eye as a functioning or at least a cosmetically acceptable organ in 118 patients; of the patients who underwent surgery, 76% retained a high degree of visual acuity. Irrespective of these good results the authors restrict the indication for an eye-preserving operation to tumors of the ciliary body which do not exceed Πof its circumference. Such operations should be performed in specialized departments which can provide adequate aftercare.
