Haemobilia Due to Ruptured Intrahepatic Aneurysm in a Child

Abstract

This report describes a major life-threatening haemorrhage in a 10-year-old child, following an intraduct rupture of an intrahepatic aneurysm of the right hepatic artery. The onset of the gastro-intestinal bleed was preceded by trauma which may have contributed to the rupture of the pre-existing aneurysm, although the documented initial injury was apparently slight. The bleeding was successfully controlled after ligation of the right hepatic artery.

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Bericht wird eine sehr bedrohliche Blutung infolge einer intraduktalen Ruptur eines intrahepatischen Aneurysmas der rechten Leberarterie bei einem 10 Jahre alten Kind beschrieben. Dem Beginn der gastrointestinalen Blutung war ein Trauma vorausgegangen, das möglicherweise zu der Ruptur eines präexistierenden Aneurysmas beigetragen hat. Das Trauma war offensichtlich jedoch nur leicht. Die Blutung wurde durch Ligatur der rechten Leberarterie beherrscht.
