Abstract
Thirteen cases of urethral trauma in childhood are reported. The nature and management
of such injuries are discussed. As a rule urethral ruptures are difficult to treat
but long term results are surprisingly good irrespective of the initial procedure.
Nevertheless, we do have the impression that with an initially aggressive operative
treatment - aimed at a good anatomic reconstruction of the urethra - this goal is
achieved much faster and with less complications.
Zusammenfassung
Anhand von 13 eigenen Fällen mit einer Urethraruptur im Kindesalter werden Ursache
und Therapie dieser seltenen Verletzungsart diskutiert.
Die Behandlung der Urethraruptur gestaltet sich meist schwierig; die Langzeitresultate
sind aber unabhängig vom initialen Behandlungsverfahren überraschend gut. Wir haben
jedoch den Eindruck, daß mit einem initial aggressiven operativen Vorgehen, das eine
primäre anatomische Rekonstruktion der Urethra anstrebt, dieses Ziel rascher und mit
weniger Komplikationen erreicht wird.
