Zusammenfassung

In letzter Zeit wurden neue Erkenntnisse über die Erektionsphysiologie gewonnen. Durch die intracorporeale Injektion von Papaverin und die dadurch erzeugte »künstliche« Erektion kann man auf einfache Weise den Funktionszustand des arteriellen, venösen und sinusoidalen Systems überprüfen. Ein entsprechendes diagnostisches Programm zur Abklärung impotenter Patienten wird vorgestellt.

Abstract

The evaluation of erectile impotence has been refined recently by advances in penile neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, hemodynamics and pharmacology. The intracorporeal injection of papaverin produces erections and seems to be a simple and direct way of assessing arterial, venous and sinusoidal function. We present a diagnostic program to evaluate impotent patients.
