Die Giardiose des Hundes - eine weit verbreitete Erkrankung in Deutschland

Infektionen mit Protozoen der Gattung Giardia bei Hunden wurden in Deutschland bis Mitte der letzten Dekade wenig beachtet - anders als in Amerika oder Australien. Erst seit wenigen Jahren wird hierzulande der Befall mit Giardien differenzialdiagnostisch verstärkt berücksichtigt. Dieser Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die Erkrankung und stellt neue Ergebnisse zur Zoonosegefahr, Epidemiologie, Klinik und Therapie vor.
