Both extracts decreased significantly the glycogen concentration in the uterus of intact as well as of ovariectomized rats. But the total solid matter, non-protein nitrogen and total protein contents were increased significantly. 50 % ethanolic extract is significant at low dose levels whereas benzene extract requires high doses. Effect is more pronounced in ovariectomized rats than in intact ones. The role of these extracts is discussed in relation to changes in biochemical constituents of uterine tissue.
