Abstract
A new anthocyanin, peonidin-3-O-β-L-arabinopyranosyl-O-β-D-glucopyranoside and the flavonol, kaempferol, have been isolated from flowers of Ipomoea fistulosa Mart. The linkage of sugar moieties in the glycoside at position-3 was characterised on the basis of various specific colour reactions, Rf values, spectral and degradation studies.
