Abstract

Six alkaloids are isolated from roots and stem barks of D. tholonii (Dioncophyllaceae): triphyophylline, isotriphyo-phylline, 8 O-methyl tetradehydrotri-phyophylline, N-methyl triphyophylline triphyopeltine and 5 -O-methyl-triphyo-peltine; the latters two are novel (hydro-xy-2-methyl naphthalene) tetrahydroiso-quinolins. β-sitosterol, plumbagone and 4, 8-dihydroxy 3-methyl tetralone have been also isolated.
