Abstract

The essential oils from fruit, leaf, stem and root of Levisticum officinale Koch were investigated through chromatographic and spectroskopic methods. The composition of essential oils of various individual parts of the plant was found to differ qualitatively and quantitatively.

The following compounds were identified:α-Pinen, β-Pinen, Camphen, Sabinen, Myrcen, α-Phellandren, β-Phellandren, α-Terpinen, γ-Terpinen, cis-Ocimen, trans-Ocimen, p-Cymen, Terpinolen, Pentylcyclohexadien, Pentylbenzen, α-Terpinylacetat, 3n-Butylidenphthalid, 3n-Butyliden-4,5-dihydrophthalid (Li-gustilid).
