Abstract
Imaging of the pulmonary ventilation and perfusion by using SPECT proved to be a useful development of this examination. At first this article gives a brief overview of the technical aspects followed by a discussion of clinical questions regarding pulmonary embolism, preoperative assessment of postoperative lung function as well as radioaerosol deposition and clearance.
