Orbitatumoren

Zusammenfassung

Bildgebende Befunde und klinische Symptomatik ermöglichen eine gezielte Diagnostik der Orbitatumoren und tumorähnlicher raumfordernder Läsionen. Grundlage dafür sind Kenntnisse über die Anatomie der Orbita und ihrer Weichteilkompartimente. Auch sind im Untersuchungsprotokoll die Vor- und Nachteile der bildgebenden Methoden CT und MRT zu berücksichtigen. Die bildgebenden Befunde und differenzialdiagnostischen Kennzeichen der wichtigsten Raumforderungen des Bulbus, des Intra- und Extrakonalraums sowie des N. opticus werden (ohne Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit) anhand verschiedener Beispiele vorgestellt.

Abstract

This short review will present an overview not only of the findings in imaging, but the main clinical symptoms of the different orbital space occupying lesions, (not only different tumors, but even tumor-like lesions), as those should be included in differential diagnostic consideration. This should lead to a targeted diagnostic procedure in the individual patient. Basic knowledge of orbital anatomy is as important as the knowledge of the pros and contra’s of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which should influence the examination protocol. Imaging findings of the most important tumors/lesions of the globe, the intraconal and extraconal space as well as of the optic nerve are presented with different examples (without any demand of completeness).

• Die verschiedenen Orbitatumoren sind in erster Linie durch ihr morphologisches Erscheinungsbild und ihren Bezug zu den unterschiedlichen Orbitakompartimenten zu charakterisieren. Eine subtile Auswertung der bildgebenden Diagnostik ist dazu unerlässlich.

• Die axiale und koronare Darstellung ermöglicht die Bestimmung der genauen Lagebeziehung, und damit die entscheidenden differenzialdiagnostischen Argumente.

• Die klinischen Befunde sind jedoch als Zusatzinformation unerlässlich und sollten immer in die Überlegungen einbezogen werden.
