Was ist neu?

• Die Therapieeinstellung nach einer TIA sollte umgehend durch spezialisierte Zentren erfolgen und eine Thrombolyse ist bei Beachtung der Kontraindikationen auch außerhalb von Studien sicher durchführbar.

• Eine der wichtigen Differenzialdiagnosen zu einer Subarachnoidalblutung ist der sogenannte idiopathische Donnerschlagkopfschmerz, einer Erkrankung aus dem Formenkreis der benignen zerebralen Angiopathien.

• Konservative Therapie (auch Akupunktur) sind im Langzeitverlauf genauso erfolgreich wie die frühzeitige Operation nach lumbalem Bandscheibenvorfall.

• Die autosomal rezessiv vererbte Friedrich-Ataxie beruht auf einer mitochondrialen Störung der Energiebereitstellung für die Zellen es existieren erste Ansätze einer Therapie.

• Das apallische Syndrom lässt sich in einigen wenigen Patienten möglicherweise durch die tiefe Hirnstimulation des Thalamus bessern.
