1 Particular form-types may be distinguished in the sap pictures whatever thedegree of general configuration.

2 The cup form is described fully.

3 Methods used until now to evaluate the pictures have disregarded individualforms.

4 A method of producing the cup form artificially was found by adding amercury salt solution to the gold reagent.

5 The relation between the seven major metals and the planets led us toconsider whether the appearance of the cup form in pictures developed with the gold reagent only is connected with the position of the planet Mercury at the time when the plants are gathered.
