Vasilios Papastergiou et al. Cold versus hot endoscopic mucosal resection for nonpedunculated colorectal polyps sized 6–10 mm: a randomized trial
This is the first randomized trial to compare the efficacy and safety of cold snare endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) with hot snare EMR for polyps sized 6 – 10 mm. Among the 164 eligible polyps in 155 patients, the authors found that complete resection of neoplastic polyps using cold snare EMR was noninferior to hot snare EMR (93 % vs. 96 %). No significant complications occurred in either group.
