Mariko Sekiya et al. Double-balloon endoscopy facilitates efficient endoscopic resection of duodenal and jejunal polyps in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis
A total of 72 double-balloon endoscopy (DBE) procedures, with resection of 1237 polyps, was performed in this series of eight patients with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). The low rate of adverse events, including delayed bleeding in seven patients and acute pancreatitis in four, shows the feasibility and effectiveness of DBE for the endoscopic follow-up of patients with FAP.
