in difficult biliary cannulation: a randomized controlled trial
This randomized study demonstrated that transpancreatic biliary sphincterotomy (TPBS)
is an effective alternative to a double-guidewire (DGW) technique following failure
of the conventional ERCP technique. TPBS achieved cannulation without increasing the
risk of post-ERCP pancreatitis compared with DGW use.
