Wen-Feng Hsu et al. Risk of colonoscopy-related complications in a fecal immunochemical test-based population colorectal cancer screening program
This study investigated colonoscopy-related complications from a large Taiwanese colorectal cancer screening database. Colonoscopies following a positive fecal immunochemical test (FIT) were associated with a more than twofold increased risk of significant bleeding compared with colonoscopies for regular care, especially when polypectomy was performed.
