Abstract
Prurigo pigmentosa is an inflammatory dermatitis of unknown etiology. It is characterized by the occurrence of recurrent pruritic papules on the trunk and neck, typically in a reticular pattern. Women are more often affected than men. Topical treatments are not of help in most cases. Systemic treatments such as oral antibiotics are suggested to be more promising. In some cases, dietetic treatment may be helpful. We here report the case of a 25-year-old European female who was successfully treated with oral minocycline.
