Adrien Patenotte et al. Diagnostic endoscopic submucosal dissection for colorectal
lesions with suspected deep invasion
The outcomes of ESD were retrospectively studied in 126 colorectal lesions with endoscopic evidence of focal (<15mm) submucosal invasion. R0 resection was achieved in 73.0% of attempts, with few adverse events. Endoscopic cure was achieved in 26.6% of patients (R0 resection and a very low risk lesion). In addition, ESD could also be a valid option for 30.6% of patients with low risk T1 cancers, especially for frail patients with co-morbidities.
