Arunkumar Krishnan et al. Endoscopic management of gastrointestinal wall defects, fistula closure, and stent fixation using through-the-scope tack and suture system
In this retrospective, single-center study, 53 patients with large gastrointestinal wall defects, fistulas, or need for stent fixation were treated with a novel through-the-scope suturing (TTSS) device. Technical and clinical success rates were 96.2 % and 92.4 %, respectively, while failures were reported for two fistula closures. Strengths of the TTSS are that scope withdrawal is not needed before treatment, and easier access to difficult locations.
