Acute Care of Extensor Tendon Injuries Zone 1-3
Abstract
Due to the manifold risk of injuries in everyday professional and private life caused by sharp or blunt force impacts, the extensor injuries of the fingers have to be treated regularly in surgical emergency care. A wide variety of injury patterns must be dealt with, ranging from compression with minimal soft tissue damage, to cuts and crush injuries, saw, plane and bite wounds, to extensive soft tissue loss, e.g. in the context of a bulge.
