Artikulationsförderung und -therapie durch Beatboxing?
Articulation Support and Therapy with Beatboxing?
Abstract
Beatboxing as an art form is part of current youth and music culture. Instrument sounds and rhythms are created with the human voice. To achieve this, beatboxers need to learn new articulation techniques and breathing techniques, as well as to refine and automate these movement/articulation patterns through intensive training. This method is comparable to articulation therapy, in which those affected work with speech therapists to develop new movement/articulation patterns, as well as to make them more precise through different exercises and forms of play and automate the processes. Since beatboxing is a very motivating subject of learning as part of current music and youth culture, it is hoped to have found a new indirect approach to articulation therapy for phonetic and/or phonological disorders. In this new field of research, there are special challenges, especially in terms of methodology.
