Paula Arruda do Espirito Santo et al. Cold endoscopic mucosal resection versus cold snare polypectomy for colorectal lesions: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Cold endoscopic mucosal resection (C-EMR) for colorectal lesions was compared with cold snare polypectomy (CSP) in this meta-analysis, including seven randomized controlled trials, involving 1556 patients and 2287 polyps. There was no difference between C-EMR and CSP in complete or en bloc resection risk, nor adverse events for removal of polyps <10 mm or ≥10 mm. Procedure time was significantly longer for C-EMR. Both endoscopic resection techniques can safely and effectively be performed for colorectal lesions.
