Paula Arruda do Espirito Santo et al. Endoscopic ultrasound‐guided versus percutaneous liver biopsy: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided and percutaneous liver biopsy were compared in this meta-analysis of four randomized controlled trials. The authors found no significant differences between these methods in outcomes such as the rate of adequate diagnostic samples, number of complete portal tracts, length of longest specimen, total length of specimen, and overall adverse events; however, EUS-guided biopsy was associated with lower post-procedure pain scores.
