Solitary neurofibroma in a child.

Abstract

This is a case report of solitary neurofibroma in a fourteen year old child. Attention should be called to the rarity of this case. It is remarkable that in spite of considerable size there were no symptoms for a long time. The mass was exclusively localised extraspinal. There were compression markings on the vertebral bodies in the cervico-thoracal region. Of most interest are the angiographical features with staining of the capsule of the mass and homogenous staining of the tumor.

Zusammenfassung

Bericht über einen für das Alter der Patientin seltenen Fall eines solitären Neurofibroms, bei dem besonders bemerkenswert war, daß der Tumor trotz erheblicher Größe lange Zeit symptomlos blieb. Bemerkenswert weiterhin, daß er ausschließlich extraspinal lokalisiert war und zu Druckerscheinungen an den Wirbelkörpern des Zerviko-thorakalen-Übergangsbereich geführt hat. Von Interesse ist der arteriographische Befund mit Darstellung einer Tumorkapsel und einer dichten homogenen Anfärbung der ganzen Geschwulst.
