Abstract
A patient with infantile Gaucher's disease is described. A marked decrease of the activity of β-glucosidase at the lower pH 4.2 was found in peripheral blood leukocytes, whereas in cultured skin fibroblasts the activity at both pH's 4.2 and 5.2 was decreased.
Examining the leukocytes of the heterozygous parents the activities of β-glucosidase at both pH's were within the values of controls, but the ratio's of activity at pH 5.2 to that at pH 4.2 were increased lying between the ratio's from the patient and controls.
Zusammenfassung
Es wird ein Patient mit der infantilen Gaucher schen Krankheit beschrieben. In den Leukozyten aus dem peripheren Blut wurde eine deutliche Verminderung der Aktivität der β-Glukosidase bei dem unteren pH-Wert von 4,2 gefunden. Dagegen war in Fibroblasten-Kulturen — gezüchtet aus einer Hautbiopsie — die Aktivität bei beiden pH-Werten (4.2 und 5.2) vermindert. Aus Untersuchungen der Leukozyten der heterozygoten Eltern ergab sich, daß die β-Glukosidase-Aktivität bei beiden pH-Werten innerhalb des Gebiets der Kontrollwerte lag. Das Verhältnis der Aktivität bei pH 5.2 zu pH 4.2 war dagegen bis zu einem Wert erhöht, der zwischen Patient und Kontrollen lag.
