Acute Massive Suprachoroidal Hemorrhage after Photodynamic Therapy in a Patient Treated with Warfarin[1]
Akute massive suprachorioidale Blutung nach photodynamischer Therapie bei einer Warfarin-PatientinPublication History

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of legal blindness in the elderly in industrialized nations. Anti-VEGF therapy has become the treatment of choice helping to preserve vision in a great percentage of patients with exudative AMD [8], yet photodynamic therapy (PDT) remains an effective treatment for predominantly classic choroidal neovascularization (CNV) and small occult with no classic CNV with recent disease progression.
PDT has a safe profile and adverse events are generally not seen [2]. We describe a case of acute massive suprachoroidal hemorrhage soon after PDT in a patient treated with warfarin.
