Entrapment of Retrograde Cannula during Mitral Annuloplasty. A Case Report

Abstract

The entrapment of a retrograde cannula during elective cardiac surgery in a 77-year-old woman is described. The anatomical aspects, structure of the cannula, and typical complications which can occur during positioning of the device are presented. We also discuss the approach used to solve the problem.
