Abstract
Medical ultrasonography is a very good modality to record general arthritic signs. But it has its limits in the differential diagnosis. The present article attempts to outline possibilities and limitations of ultrasonography in inflammatory rheumatic diseases. The final diagnosis must be made in the context of laboratory results, clinical investigation and imaging.
