Im Hinblick auf die Reduzierung von Krankenhausbetten und die Absicht der Krankenkassen, Kosten zu sparen, ist eine weitere Verkürzung des Klinikaufenthalts nach einer Spontangeburt absehbar. Was bedeutet dies für Mutter und Kind? Hat die Dauer des stationären Aufenthalts nach der Geburt Auswirkungen auf deren Gesundheit?
