The cardiorenal syndrome got in the focus of discussion in the last years. Long before the term of CRS was named by Ronco, clinical routine revealed the interaction of heat-failure and its therapy with kidney-function, as well as the influence of chronic kidney disease on the cardiovascular system. This article is meant to point out the aspects of clinical routine regarding diagnostics and therapy of patients with cardiorenal syndrome.
