ESGE guidelines

Under the direction of Cesare Hassan, ESGE guidelines committee chair, several new guidelines are currently being developed and will be published in future issues of the journal Endoscopy.

“Colorectal cancer stenting” under the leadership of Jeanin van Hooft, Netherlands, is nearing completion as is “Management of iatrogenic perforations” with Gregorios Paspatis at the helm.

ESGE is also joining forces with affiliated societies to produce common guidelines. For example, together with the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology to produce a guideline on “The use of CTC in Europe”.

Other guidelines being developed in cooperation with other societies are “ESGE/ERS/ESTS Combined endobronchial and esophageal endosonography for the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer” and “ESGE/ESPGHAN Pediatric endoscopy”.
