Die Erfolgsbeurteilung urogynäkologischer Therapien und besonders von Operationen wegen Deszensus oder Harninkontinenz ist weiterhin ein offenes Kapitel. Zunehmend gewinnt jedoch die subjektive Verbesserung der Lebensqualität im Vergleich zur früher üblichen rein „objektiven“ Beurteilung der Veränderung der anatomischen Situation an Bedeutung. In diesem Zusammenhang spielt auch die Sexualität eine gewichtigere Rolle, als dies bisher der Fall war.
